Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
What size can you scan?
Anything up to A4.
Can you scan slides and negatives and in what resolution?
Yes, our 35mm slide scanning service uses 4800 DPI as standard. We also have a negative scanning service which offers scanning at the same DPI but we can go lower if you wish. We also scan glass plates, lantern slides, photographs and documents. More information can be found under the Service tab.
How do I make an order?
First count the number of photos, negatives, slides you want to convert and then use our Request Quote page or Contact page.
Once we receive your request, we will either make an appointment with you (if you want to deliver your photos to us personally), or ask you to package your images and send them to us. We recommend using the Royal Mail recorded delivery or any other courier that requires a signature as proof of delivery.
We will confirm receipt of your package once it arrives, and then start the scanning process.
Can you provide a quotation without me counting my material prior to an order?
No, unfortunately we do not provide a counting service. If you send us images to be scanned, we will scan them and invoice accordingly. If you require a quotation prior to sending us your images, please count them first and use this website to obtain an exact price or send us an email with quantities.
How do I get my photographic material to you?
The easiest way is for you to deliver your photos to us. If you are unable to do so and you live within the local area, we can pick them up ourselves and deliver them back to you. If you don’t live in the local area, send us your photographs in the post. We recommend you send them recorded delivery. We will return everything back to you either via recorded delivery or in person if you live locally.
Can I drop my slides/films off and collect when they are ready?
Yes, you can. You will need to arrange a time and place to drop your material off so please contact us first.
How do I get my digital copies?
In most cases we will WeTransfer the digital copies to you so you can download them onto your computer. However if you would prefer to receive your images on a USB device such as a memory stick, let us know.
How much does it cost?
Our prices start at £0.10p per photo. You can find more details under the Prices tab. We provide discounts for larger quantities.
What payments do you accept?
We accept PayPal and bank transfers. Once your photos are scanned we will send you an invoice.
